HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Operator Station Design Team. This role plays an important part in developing components and assemblies to address customer needs (e.g. levers, joysticks, steering systems, pedal mechanisms, dashes and interiors, seating assemblies). Engineering has high ownership of the design from brainstorming through start of ownership. You and the team will work closely with all aspects of the organization, including marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and test to ensure that we deliver quality components and systems that exceed our customers' expectations. Work location will be from home initial with ability to be onsite as needed. Join our team as we take forklift design to the next level!


  • Seeks and provides input to the concept phase of projects.

  • Develops the design of specific components, assemblies, and systems as part of project teams.

  • Provides product design documentation through the creation of drawings, ECNs and ECN lists.

  • Integrates input into the design of components, assemblies, or vehicles systems.

  • Develops relationships with internal and external partners to drive development, which may require limited travel to support planning, initial prototype and production builds, and or quality.


  • Formal education with a minimum B.S. in Engineering

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic skills in Creo/NX (modeling, drafting, and layouts) and analysis techniques

  • Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology

  • Exposure to and interest in industrial equipment (e.g. forklifts, agriculture, trucks) is desirable.

  • Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.

  • Attention to procedures and details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and records.

  • Decision Making: exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.

  • Systematic Problem solving: demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.

  • Teamwork and Flexibility: function well in a team environment. Solicit opinions from coworkers, support group decisions, and display team spirit. Be open minded and flexible enough to work effectively in an environment where project priorities may shift in response to customer needs.
