Job Description:

The Senior Director will be an innovator within the newly formed Care Plus organization focused on the short and long-term strategy for building out products and capabilities onto a cohesive platform that both aligns and compliments other Evernorth products and services. The role will drive forward the strategic vision of the new platform while keeping current services stable, and growing/developing new products.

In this role you will be responsible for near-term Technical integration with the MDLIVE Technology team. This role will be responsible for leading and expanding engineering teams accountable for integrating all virtual care Technology workstreams: Engineering, Operations, Talent, and Strategy. In this role you will be the key conduit with the MDLIVE Technology leadership team, ensuring a smooth transition and assimilation into the Evernorth Technology organization. The position will require a great deal of comfort working in an ambiguous space that is evolving. This role requires strong relationship building, a strategic mindset and the ability to work cross functionally to influence the integration of this critical platform.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Essential Functions:


  • Provide in-depth technical consultation to business partners and technology leadership as an individual contributor with the option for expansion in the future.


  • Systematically evaluates processes and to drive cohesive and new ways of thinking across software engineering. Responsible for driving value as well as ensuring systems and processes are in place to manage successful technical integration.


  • Influence teams and drive positive team culture to ensure cohesion in working towards the Care Plus vision. Ultimately delivering value by prioritizing product demand, backlog and the execution of engineering efforts while delivering desired impact on financial scale.


  • Provide leadership to support agile teams by handling impediments and potential roadblocks.


  • Provide oversight of development teams to meet critical milestones and deliverables that are time and scope boxed.


  • Leads and participates in process improvement and cross-functional technology initiatives.


  • Report key performance metrics to technology leadership team.


  • Drive key decisions on when and how to implement new and emerging technologies.


  • Drive innovation into our evolving Evernorth Strategy.


  • Work closely with TPL partners and PBM partners and apply technical Subject Matter Expertise across owned products.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.


  • 10-12 years' experience in software engineering.


  • 8-10 years leading software engineering teams, integration experience preferred.


  • Experience working in varied computer systems (including legacy, distributed and new emerging technologies), security principals, networks and system as well as databases and data storage systems.


  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively to work through complex matters with innovative solutions, including TPL partners, business partners, operations partners and enterprise technology partners.


  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver large scale and cross functional efforts.


  • Engagement and leadership in enterprise forums.


  • Ability to manage a financial budget/portfolio across teams.


  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.


  • Experience working in the agile framework.


  • Ability to focus on reliability and scalability across capabilities.


  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to team members with varying levels of technical expertise.


  • A strong work ethic with an appreciation for ownership, independence, accountability and autonomy in your role.
