Maintenance Technician I

Your Role:

The Maintenance Technician I at MilliporeSigma will support the Sheboygan Falls site's maintenance activities. The Maintenance Tech will maintain and repair equipment, facilities, and utility systems, and assist with keeping the entire site running by completing corrective and preventive maintenance work orders. The work is performed both independently and in teams.

  • Read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings for daily use on site

  • Maintain electrical and mechanical systems

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic shop tools (grinder, drill press, sand blaster, band saw, etc.).

  • Troubleshoot controls, VFDs, analytical equipment and instrumentation

  • Install and maintain electrical power and control circuits up to 120 V.

  • Participation in the call-in program to be available for weekend and holiday on-call and after-hours duty.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in applicable field

  • Ability to direct contractors and other technicians

  • Ability to generate process improvement solutions.

  • Experience in Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Experience with industrial equipment and plant utilities

  • Knowledge of LEAN and 6S concepts

  • Ability to use PC software and applications (CMMS, web browsers, Word, Excel, email)

  • Ability to read, redline, and understand all types of drawings/schematics.

  • Ability to identify parts needed for a repair

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments

  • Ability to read gauges, understand units of measure and use precision measuring equipment.

  • Ability to understand materials of construction and chemical compatibility

  • Identify unsafe work conditions and report them to management

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
