AT&T Core/Edge solutions engineer

Develop, test, and certify Layer-2-3-4 technologies on multiple vendor hardware and software platforms based on customized or generic design. Identify and define software and hardware problems and develop viable solutions and alternatives. Use system utilities and automation to effectively resolve hardware and software problems.  Work closely with Hardware and Software vendor(s) to identify and fix bugs and perform detail root cause analysis and bug validation in certification lab environment. Provide ongoing support to operation partners, in case of production issue actively collaborate with Operations to replicate the issue in lab and actively get involved and work with vendor to get the fix for production issue.

Roles and responsibilities

• Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
• Designing, testing, identifying the issues
• Troubleshooting and resolving system hardware and software issues
• Installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, administering, monitoring, and maintaining various Network operating systems, associated software, virtual management systems, servers, networking, clustering, storage, and software applications for Architectures supporting a variety of virtualization technologies

Required skills/qualifications

• IP Routing Protocols Subject Matter Expertise – MPLS, BGP, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, BGP-UC, Static, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, Multicast, Vlan, RIP, FIB, L2/L3-VPNs, SNMP, Telemetry.
• Networking Technologies – TCP/UDP, VxLAN, VPCs, NAT, DNS, QoS, CoS, BGP FlowSpec, VRFs, TACACS, BFD, Security, Netflow, TWAMP, Route-reflectors, Route groups, Hub and Spoke.
• Virtualized Network functions Technologies: (VNFs, KVM and VMware) and containerization platforms including OpenStack, Heat templates, Docker, & Kubernetes. Senior level experience with lab environments, predominately Linux based.
• Experience with DevOps tools: Ansible, Helm, Terraform.
• Multivendor Platforms Expertise but not limited to – Cisco IOS and IOS-XR platforms, Cisco CRS, Cisco ASR 9000 series platforms, Juniper MX, T-Series Platforms including JunOS. Arista Network Switches 7K, Ufi, DriveNets NOS.
• Candidate with Scripting experience using Python/Shell/TCL/ Perl / Selenium automation and hands on work experience in configuring IXIA, SPIRENT test equipment’s.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to closely work with other on development team. SKILL & ABILITY TO: Design, Test and implement multi-level Network platform technology systems.
