Sr. Process Engineer at NEOTech

Job Description:

Summary:

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading activities to improve the quality and effectiveness of all microelectronics manufacturing processes, including but not limited to substrate attach, die attach, wire bonding, hermetic sealing, and environmental screening.  He/she is responsible for associated metrics management, corrective action analysis, process troubleshooting, new process development/qualification, and mentoring of the process engineering staff. Other Responsibilities include the “operational ownership” of all manufacturing processes, support of all related products during their manufacturing lifecycle, and support of document control activities to ensure documentation correctness and completeness is available for all product builds and process operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Mentor, assist, and develop other process engineers

  • Lead continuous improvement (kaizen) efforts and engage area employees to participate

  • Lead New product introduction (NPI) efforts in the Microelectronics areas.

  • Lead the resolution of high-profile technical projects and problems that have customer-affecting implications.

  • Lead engineering initiatives in evaluating:  solders, epoxies, new equipment (installations) and recommend solutions both tactically and strategically.

  • Monitor and work with maintenance technicians to maintain production equipment including but not limited to wire bonders, seam sealers, automatic die placement machines, eutectic attach, leak test equipment and thermal chambers.

  • Initiate process improvements through effective evaluations of test/yield data and manufacturing defects and make adjustments to process equipment accordingly.

  • Create, present and obtain approval for capital investment programs.

  • Perform risk management/FMEA and process validation.

  • Program, troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing process equipment as required

  • Provide guidance to machine operators/production employees and show alternate methods of solving or preventing process, business or technical problems.

  • Interact with other functional and business groups or with outside vendors.

  • Comply with Environmental Health and Safety regulations.

  • Comply with all in-house training as identified in job specific family and or specific training plan.

  • Perform all other duties, including SMT process engineering tasks, as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Must be well versed in programming and supporting  automated placement systems and wire bonders


    • Palomar, MRSI, K&S, H&K or similar systems


  • Mastery of MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38534

  • Mastery of New Product Introduction (NPI) and development.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and solve problems.

  • Must be able to interface with floor personnel and provide clear direction/training

  • Lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred.

  • Fluency in English Language- Reading, Written & Spoken

Experience/Education:


  • BS mechanical or industrial engineering, or other engineering discipline

  • Valid Permanent Resident or citizen of the United States of America

  • 10+ years process engineering experience in the Microelectronics Industry
