We are seeking a Fleet Coordinator to:


  • Maintain and procure Fleet vehicles for UW Health organizational wide.

  • Assist with repair and maintenance of vehicles on a regular basis.

  • Meet with vendors to discuss pricing and supplies for maintaining the fleet.

  • Use good judgement and sound fiscal decision-making skills while working independently.

Education:
Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred – Associate Degree in Business or related field

Work Experience:
Minimum – 1 year of transportation or fleet experience
Preferred – 3 years’ experience in a similar role or capacity

Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
Preferred – Commercial driver's license (CDL)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Assists with activities of staff in relation to transportation operations within UW Health Enterprise on duties like dispatching and tracking/monitoring of transportation vehicles (Ex: Parking locations, etc.)

  • Maintains service and repair records for all vehicles.

  • Negotiation of contracts and other forms of purchases and procurements that are related to UW Health Enterprise transportation needs.  Recommend final decision to the Manager Transportation & Fleet Operations.

  • Assist in developing important indicators that measure and show the effectiveness of UW Health transportation operations enterprise wide.

  • Assists Manager Transportation & Fleet Operations and Supervisor Transportation with interview, and selection of prospective employees.

  • Develop and implement driver training program and maintain training records for UW Health Drivers.

  • Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the cause of problems like accidents (if any arises) and to suggests safety measures to avoid recurrence of such issues.

  • Recommend changes in driver activities, such as proposed change in route schedule.

  • Maintain open dialogue with other units’ managers, to organize activities that will enhance UW Health’s general performance.

  • Negotiate and present recommendations to the Manager Transportation & Fleet Operations, for the acquisition of new equipment or the replacement of old ones.

  • Assist with procuring equipment relating to vehicles such as GPS, IPASS, ONSTAR, etc…. for vehicles.

  • Assist in obtaining devices that need to be installed in maintenance/trade related fleet vehicles.

  • Provide Sustainability recommended information relating to fleet vehicles (EX:  idling time, total miles driven…)

  • This position may also perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.

ALL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE PERFORMED CONSISTENT WITH THE UW HEALTH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.

Physical Requirements:
Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time, or scheduled for 40 hours per week.  The position is to be scheduled Monday - Friday, with the start time varying between 5:30 am and 8:00 am.  Shift hours will vary depending on the overall needs of the department.
