Corporate MRO Buyer

OVERVIEW

The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated professionals to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, or ensure the shelves of your local grocery store are stocked by Direct Store Delivery.

The Corporate MRO Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. This position optimizes price, delivery and terms in accordance with all policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Create purchase requisitions. Rationalize inventory positions to optimize corporate working capital.

  • Perform recommended reorder daily and review confirmations.

  • Process Capital project purchase orders.

  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice pricing, EDI failures & Esker approvals.

  • Maintain the MRO mailbox for various orders and requests

  • Interact with plant engineer, maintenance supervisors and mechanics

  • Prepare and analyze month-end inventory, assist plants with continuous turn improvement.

  • Review inventory usage and redundant inventory, provide data for KPIs

  • Review daily / weekly plant spend

  • Provide various reports to plants when requested

  • Attend meetings with Strategic Sourcing group, gather info for RFQ's when needed and relay information to plants.

  • Facilitate monthly meetings with plant buyers - document each Plant's updates/complaints. Follow up with suppliers and resolve issues.

  • Facilitate weekly meeting with plant stockroom clerks - documents each Plant's updates/complaints. Follow up with suppliers and resolve issues.

  • Provide updates to master data as needed.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of buying experience is preferred

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.

  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills.

  • Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems, Internet, Spreadsheet, Word and Excel software.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Must have a sold understanding of production planning within an MRP system.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • 20% travel required


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university and 3+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • P.M., A.P.P. or APICS certification.
