Piedmont Plastics is seeking a Sign & Graphic Specialist to add to our Corporate Sales team. This role is a key member of the team that is responsible for the development and profitable growth of new business within an assigned industry segment by utilizing extensive industry, application and product knowledge. This position will focus on key markets and be responsible for building our knowledge, presence and market position.

This position is open to anyone in the West region of the US as this role covers a large demographic area.

In this position, you will be required to:

 


  • Develop and execute a Sales Plan with the local Branch Manager and Region Manager, focused on sales, margin and customer base growth utilizing CRM. (follow Specialist Playbook)

  • Report on monthly activity to Sign & Graphics Market Manager.

  • Proactively establish and visit focus customers and prospects, those existing or new potential customers with the greatest potential and likelihood for new sales revenue. Focus appropriate attention on these focus accounts commensurate with potential to successfully close new business.

  • Assist branch sales team with their targeting efforts and subsequent maintenance and service calls necessary to retain and expand market position.

  • Communicate regularly with branch managers on their discoveries, activities and opportunities while calling or visiting customers.

  • Continuously assist in training branch sales personnel on electric sign, digital and graphic product lines.

  • Maintain corporate relationship with Key S&G suppliers.

  • Learn and continuously develop understanding of features, benefits and applications of our products. This may include PPI furnished training, supplier training or other outside training.

  • Proactively travel in territory where the greatest need and opportunity exists. This may include working independently with branch sales personnel or supplier representatives.

  • Proactively visit Key S&G Accounts to gather information, determine customer needs and monitors competition while maintaining and maximizing the customer relationship.  Identify and engage key decision makers at these accounts.

  • Proactively identify and visit new potential customers / prospects in territory and makes contact to determine sales volume, identify competition, contact and develop relationships with key decision makers and influencers, learn company/buyer’s needs and begin process of sales development with these prospects.

  • Follow up leads and application opportunities.

To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have:


  • At least 2 years of outside sales experience in plastics, industrial distribution or industry-related sales experience with a track record of exceeding assigned sales goals

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two year's related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in plastics, industrial distribution or graphics-related sales

  • A personal vehicle in good condition

  • Basic computer skills

  • A willingness and desire to travel almost exclusively and the schedule to allow overnight travel as well

  • A positive attitude and are a team player!
