PRIME AE Group (www.primeeng.com), a multi-discipline A/E firm with a combined (17) office locations/over 400 employees within the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, and Southeast Regions, is seeking an Architect or Structural Engineer for our Roofing and Envelope practice for the Pensacola, FL office.
We have multiple office locations to be based near (ideal situation) with working from home/occasional trips to the office but remote/working from a home office is also an option:
- Pensacola, FL (office location) or any of the Southeastern States
- Baltimore, Maryland (office location) - Mid-Atlantic States Region
- Richmond/Fairfax, VA (office locations) or Virginia/West Virginia/Washington, D.C. Region
Primary work details will include: assessment of roofs and building envelopes, report preparation as well as design and quality control of roof and envelope projects, including observations of onsite construction activities.
- Work will be mostly in the Southeast but may include work anywhere in the country. May include work on Department of Defense Bases.
Required Skills and Experience
We are seeking a well-rounded technical knowledge base of various roofing systems (or the ability to learn these systems quickly).
- 7+ years of documented roof and envelop design experience.
- Qualified candidates will be responsible to generate professional, detailed field reports for observed activities including photos and overview drawings of the work area.
- Reports must be well written and be subject to scrutiny from other industry professionals.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, demonstrate a "can-do" attitude, and be a team player with the physical stamina necessary to safely handle ladders accessing several structures per day.
- A Registered Architect or Structural Engineer (PE) is strongly preferred.

- Designing roof/envelope-related details and drawings using CADD software
- Report writing
- Assisting with roof assessments, and roof leak investigations
- Previewing pay applications and close out documents
- Travelling to multiple job sites having differing roof assemblies
