Summary

Under the direction of the Director, North American Payroll, this role will be responsible for the oversight of third party payroll tax filing, accurate preparation and completion of company payrolls, monitoring KPI's, creating and managing audit reports, performing system testing, and identifying improvements proactively. The position is also responsible for key control adherence. This position will need to learn and understand the other roles within the department in order to assist or cover for absences.

Essential Functions

• Be able to perform all U.S. and Canada payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and tax reporting


• Responsible for integrity of payroll tax data passed from the Payroll System along with research and resolution of related errors


• Responsible for payroll tax research and resolution through third party and tax agencies as well as tax filings that may not be performed by third party


• Process complex payroll activities in accordance with guidelines and legal requirements


• Responsible for support of payroll configuration changes and testing


• Design and implement key payroll reports, which include quarter and annual tax audits and W-2 balancing


• Participate in staff meetings to provide input towards department efficiencies


• Participate in payroll activities for acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and system updates or conversions


• Cover absences in the department via thorough working knowledge of all roles


• Other duties and projects as needed

Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

Bachelor Degree; emphasis in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred

6 years combined experience in payroll tax laws, payroll tax filing, payroll processing and payroll accounting related functions

Preferred Supervisory experience

Experience with Workday payroll and time tracking a plus
