PURPOSE/SCOPE:


  • This role will be accountable for inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing problems on all industrial and facility related equipment. Position will support assigned shift but must also having willingness to work flexible hours when business needs dictate.

GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:


  • PerformPM inspections on all industrial production and building related equipment.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems on all industrial production and facility related equipment including plastic processing, assembly, inspection and prototype equipment.

  • Hazardous waste disposal, with proper training and equipment.

  • Execute general maintenance workorders.

  • Record repairs, PM tasks, workorders, etc.

  • Coordinate and monitor outsidecontractor performance.

  • Participate in and support Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.

  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:


  • High school education orequivalent AND

  • 3-8 years of related experience withIndustrial Automated Systems Maintenance, Metal Fabrication Equipment Maintenance, Equipment Repair and Maintenance.

OR


  • 2 year vocational school degree from an accredited college witha certificate in one of the following trades: Industrial Maintenance, Automated Industrial Systems, Industrial pneumatic/electronic controls, HVAC, plumbing, electricity,welding, fluid power, or mechanics AND

  • 2-5 years of related experience withIndustrial Automated Systems Maintenance, Metal Fabrication, Equipment Repair and Maintenance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • The ideal candidate will have a considerable command of industrial and mechanical equipment.

  • Previous experience in computerized maintenance management software.

  • Plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and controls experience for both commercial and industrial purposes.

  • Ability to read and diagnose electrical schematics and equipment prints.

  • Tennant is willing to train internal candidate who possesses related skill sets and is willing to seek external training.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Ability to diagnose failures in various pieces of Production/Facility related equipment using the appropriate hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

  • Ability to use electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment, precision-measuring and testing instruments.

  • Ability to perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PMs) on all industrial production and facility related equipment including lubrication and coolant procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance.

  • Basic understanding of equipment including but not limited to; Processing machines, assembly equipment, controls and auxiliary equipment.

  • Ability to perform basic repairs using manual machining, welding and cutting equipment.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Frequent use ofladders, personal lifts at heights of up to 35 feet, and operation ofvarious maintenance shop tools and equipment.

  • Lifting of supplies, and materials up to 60 pounds.

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:


  • Ability to problem-solve.

  • Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment.

  • Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation.

  • Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business.

  • Ability to take direction and accept supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics,welding, pneumatics, plumbing, electricity, lubrication, HVAC.

  • Proficient in MSOffice products as well as preventative maintenance software.

  • Goodcommunication skills, ability to interpret oral, written instructions for work direction.

  • Capable of working with equipment operators to determine the nature and extent of mechanical problems and failures.

  • Must be able to read, write,add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, anddecimals.

  • Basicprint reading level (electricaland hydraulic schematics desirable).

  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently and in agroup environment.

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks.

  • Proven track record of innovation, ingenuity, creativity,attention to detail, ownership, integrity, accountability, and willingnessto seek and take on challenges is required.
