Job Description:

Directs all aspects of alumni engagement, including events, publications, alumni web page, alumni social media, and volunteer recruitment and training. Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts from a variety of benefactors, including alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the university. Works with senior leadership to develop strategies and implement tactics to increase annual giving and alumni engagement and to acquire new donors.


  1. Plans and administers an annual giving program that annually increases both the number of contributors and annual gift totals.

  2. Works to increase alumni giving participation annually.

  3. Fosters a culture of giving among the university's graduates; manages a portfolio of alumni leadership annual giving prospects.

  4. Performs comprehensive analysis related to all aspects of the annual giving program; creates reports and uses statistics to evaluate current annual giving programming and make recommendations for program improvement.

  5. Analyzes giving trends to achieve fundraising goals during the fiscal year, and to set annual goals and objectives.

  6. Serves as project manager for the development of annual giving and alumni relations materials, which includes creating and managing budgets, securing resources, and scheduling and delivering materials to appropriate constituents.

  7. Produces regular reports for the vice president as assigned.

  8. Ensures that the annual giving program is coordinated with all other University Advancement programs and plans.

  9. Maintains regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, alumni social media, and print materials.

  10. Plans and administers alumni events, activities, and programs designed to enhance alumni engagement with the university.

  11. Manages use and maintenance of the alumni and friends website, UHVConnect.

  12. Participates in university events and functions as required.

  13. Manages student staff assigned to this position.

  14. Performs other job-related duties as required.
