LeachGarner has an exciting opportunity for an experienced manufacturing machine operator to join our team as Milling Machine Operator on 1st shift. In this role you will set up and operate a variety of milling machines to mill flat or curved surfaces.

Your responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret blueprints or layout on work piece to determine sequence of operations and finished dimensions of work piece


• May create simple programs or perform simple modifications to existing programs


• Lift and position 45 pound work piece on machine table


• Mount milling cutter in spindle and position cutter and work piece


• Verify alignment of work piece


• Operate other machinery as needed to complete machining processes


• Initiate program, start machine, and monitor machine during operation


• Monitor tool wear and change tooling, as required


• Measure and inspect finished work piece for compliance with drawings


• Perform supportive operations, such as cleaning and sanding


• Ensure that work pieces are satisfactory in every respect before placing them in outbound trays


• Maintain necessary records and move materials as necessary in performance of duties


• Follow established company and department rules and regulations and maintain quality standards

Requirements:

• Experience working as a manufacturing machine operator


• Ability to read mill tickets, process information and manuals


• Able to read, speak and understand English


• Ability to work independently


• Detail and quality oriented


• Excellent attendance and able to work overtime if required


• Good math skills


• Knowledge and/ or experience with precision measuring devices


• Able to follow all safety rules and PPE requirements


• High school diploma or GED

Physical demands of the position:

• Standing and moving for 8 - 10-hour shifts


• Ability to lift and move 45+ pounds repetitively throughout shift


• Ability to push and pull with force


• Ability to reach stoop and crouch for long periods of time


• Visual acuity


• Repetitive motion
