AVP, Training Specialist at LPL Financial

LPL's Advisor Institute helps people who aspire to become financial advisors achieve that goal. We partner with established financial advisors who qualify to become sponsors-or managing advisors-and have committed to growing their teams. We offer training programs are designed to jumpstart the career of new to the industry candidates so they can make an immediate impact upon joining their sponsor's team. Our training professionals help them learn the fundamentals of the business, navigate the logistics of licensing, and provide mentorship along the way to ensure their success. We also offer opportunities to more established advisors committed to life-long learning and upskilling to stay at the top of their game.

Responsibilites:

End-to-end management of training programs including things such as:


  • Marketing Advisor Institute and our offerings to drive awareness and engagement


  • Shaping and implementing an approach to find, attract and source early career advisors and successfully pair these candidates with existing practices


  • Delivering modern learning experiences that provide the knowledge and skills a candidate needs to maximize their productivity and overall impact; Traveling as needed to achieve program outcomes


  • Assessing program effectiveness with an eye to identifying gaps and determining-then prioritizing and addressing-training needs or areas of improvement


  • Designing, building and activating new lessons or programs that are relevant and address both advisor needs and business objectives; Staying abreast of trends and tools in the training and development space


  • Managing the integration of training partners such as guest speakers/subject matter experts and vendors into programs


  • Developing and executing a multi-pronged feedback strategy to identify learnings and gain valuable insights that can be used to enhance the outcome for participants who enroll in our programs


  • Setting, tracking and measuring impact relative to key business goals


What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

In the first 90 days a successful candidate will learn about LPL, our business, structure and team; get up to speed on the program line up; immerse themselves in all aspects of the training programs they will oversee; take over delivering or facilitating programs; and begin to formulate an approach for evaluating the current state.

Requirements:


  • To develop and deliver the most successful training experiences, the candidate will need to be organized and highly collaborative-with the ability to engage on multiple levels with key stakeholders and program participants to (internal and external) training partners and subject matter experts.


  • The ideal candidate will have solid presentation and communication skills and must be equally competent at engaging and instructing a large group as they are in a one-to-one coaching session.


  • This professional must have the ability to present complex information simply and clearly-breaking down difficult concepts into smaller, more bite-sized teachings


  • A successful candidate will have the ability to recognize and address opportunities to improve how programs are run and increase the value and overall experience of the participants


Preferences:


  • Previous experience in a training/training facilitator role is preferred


  • Experience as a financial advisor or similar industry experience a plus (CFP, Series 7 and 66)


  • BS in Education, Training, HR, Communications, or related field a plus


  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, as well as platforms such as SalesForce and online training delivery technologies
