Responsibilities
Conducts registration visits to clarify patient/family needs and concerns, explains how hospice would address those needs and concerns, gets consents and other initial paperwork completed and provides emotional support. Specializes in "closing the deal" and is responsible for increasing admissions. Responsible for the marketing initiatives for hospice and palliative care referrals. Fulfills agency goals by generating new business relationships and cultivating existing business relationships. Creatively Displays an ongoing commitment to excellence in customer service to both internal/external customers. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, and values of The Elizabeth hospice.
Develop and implement a "soft" marketing plan to foster community awareness. Identifies prospects and works to emphasize customer benefits.
Facilitates communication between hospice staff and external/internal customers.
Establish, build and nurture community partner relationships. Circulates promotional/educational materials within clinical community, participates in health fairs and agency sponsored events.
Conducts registration visits in the hospital, facility or patient's home to clarify patient/family needs and concerns, explains how hospice would address those needs and concerns, obtains consents and completes other initial paperwork.
Portrays self-confidence with agency's reputation and translates this image into a trusting relationship both with patients/families and customers.
Provides emotional support to the patient and/or family during the registration visit and appropriately handles the emotional situation so that the customer is helped according to their needs.
Provides hospice education to the clinical community as needed in order to meet patient's needs.
Nurtures relationships with various sources in the local medical community including, hospitals, facilities and physicians when applicable.
Troubleshoots real or perceived problems identified by referral sources which either, currently or potentially affect patient referrals, and effectively resolves problem issues with referral sources.
Demonstrates compliance and understanding with the policies of the agency and rules and regulations of state and federal bodies.

Work Hours: M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m

Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one to two years in healthcare or related experience.
Prefer experience with hospice, home health, HMO using Medicare and/or Medi-Cal.
Demonstrates excellent Customer Service skills.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, community agencies and institutions.
Current driver's license and proof of insurance required.
