As an active member in the Parker Commercial Flight Controls Division (CFCD) team, the Quality and Final Assembly Line (FAL) Support Engineer acts as the liaison between customer build line activities and the Parker CFCD team. He/She is the prime actor to resolve on site issues for Gulfstream in coordination with other CFCD team members.

The objective of this position is to continually maximise customer satisfaction while minimizing Parker's FAL support, product returns, and associated costs.

The individual is customer focused and a team player. Activities include troubleshooting, fixing, dispositioning, tracking, coordinating and reporting defaults on all products supplied by Parker Aerospace CFCD on the various customer programs.

The candidate will be expected to act quickly and effectively and will make sure that Gulfstream Quality and FAL organizations receive timely, accurate and complete answers to their requests acting as the voice of Parker.

The candidate is responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with Gulfstream personnel while supporting improvements that effect current customer ratings in the Quality and FAL organizations.

This function includes:
* Coordinate and carry out interventions on aircraft with appropriate technical support
* Collecting data and information
* Act as Quality Engineer with appropriate approval authority
* Supporting problem resolution
* Coordinating support activities with Parker CFCD and Local Engineering Representatives
* Identifying responsibilities for issues occurring at the various FALs and pre-FALs
* Coordinating meetings & reviews, contributing to customer presentations preparation
* Anticipating and preventing un-necessary equipment removals
* Proposing and implementing innovative ideas and processes
* Insuring proper verbal and written communication within the company organization, Quality, Engineering, program management, Customer Support and senior management
* Identify and maintain local stocks of parts, tools & consumables in response to need
* Ensure the safety & security of the team members and participate in the safety plan preparation

Reporting:

* The Quality and FAL Support Engineer reports to the Parker CFCD Quality Director
* No direct report at this time

* Strong technical and quality background, BS of Engineering degree, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
* Knowledge of engineering practices and aircraft systems
* Mechanic / workshop training: capable of working effectively in the aircraft environment
* Preferred intimate understanding and knowledge of the Gulfstream Quality and Supply chain processes
* Good understanding of Aerospace Quality Procedures and Processes
* Background in Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering or operational experience preferred
* Experience in Ground & Flight test as well as Production activities is desirable
* Ability to analyze and diagnose issues
* Capability to provide recommendations on system/software/design based on field findings
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to read specifications and drawings
* Ability to use general inspection, measurement, and test equipment
* Energetic team player with demonstrated ability to interface successfully at all levels of the customer and company organizations
* Self-starter, must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* Proficient user of personal computers and ability to adapt to various software including Excel, Word, Power Point, Lotus Notes
* Ability to work under time pressure
* Flexibility to adapt to varying work hours including off hours and week-ends and support occasional activities beyond the main focus of the role.

Problems which are normally part of the job and which may not be immediately evident to others:

* First point of contact for all FAL issues related to Parker Aerospace CFCD products
* Data gathering at the FAL, analysis of issue in coordination with Gulfstream representatives and reporting to the Parker Division and local engineering representatives involved
* Making sure Gulfstream follows the defined problem reporting process including the identification of liability before triggering any corrective action
* Coordinate corrective action with Division Quality and PM Representatives. The candidate will provide proactive ideas, suggestions, solutions and make proposal to resolve issues and ease processes
* Implement corrective action including coordination Gulfstream FAL and provisioning for Replacement Stock
