Content Specialist - About the positionThe primary responsibility of the Content Specialist position is to guide and develop the content creation for Hope Services and HopeTHRIFT retail stores. The content specialist is tasked with researching and defining target audiences for a variety of channels, managing the content creation and distribution process, and monitoring audience and content metrics. Your words will inform and engage target audiences. Content Specialist - Essential Functions- Work with program staff to ideate, write, and publish content topics.- Identify relevant data points and testimonials to support messaging.- Plan and manage editorial calendar for social media.- Curate and source supporting photos, videos, and visuals.- Generate a consistent pipeline of evergreen content for marketing.- Develop content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience on each channel and marketing goals.- Creating content for a variety of platforms including blogs, websites, print, and social.- Ensure SEO and SMO strategies are effectively integrated within writing.- Oversee the production of a monthly newsletter.- Provide copywriting support for marketing and fundraising collaterals.- Collaborate with and manage external vendors on a variety of marketing projects.- Develop relationship and connections with content publishers.- Other duties as assigned to assure the efficiency of Hope's marketing and communications.
Content Specialist - Qualifications Required Expert storyteller, with an editorial eye for social media formatting and visuals. Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience with emphasis in social media management, copywriting, communications, journalism, or email marketing. Possession of a valid CA driver's license and clear driving record for the past 3 years Experience working with and/or in non-profit organizations a plus. Must provide writing samples. Content Specialist - Required Knowledge and Skills Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar. Ability to interpret technical information and creative direction and convert into persuasive copy. Creative eye for design and advertising trends. Strong organizational and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail and presentation. Relationship builder with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Firm understanding of social media platforms and trends. Foundational knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage others at varying levels of seniority within and outside Hope Services. High energy and passion for Hope Services' mission is essential. Proficient knowledge of Adobe suite to create graphics for social media a plus.
