Thefull-time Research Assistant(RA) will provide professional level research support to a study funded by the Department of Defense that is led by Co-Principal Investigators in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The project aims to 1) understand the potential demand for Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation (VCA), among military veterans; and 2) to develop a shared decision-making process that will help this vulnerable group and their family caregivers make treatment decisions and optimize the results of VCA.
The research assistant's primary responsibilities include the recruitment and consent of military veterans, family caregivers, and healthcare providers, transcribing audio-/video-recordings, development of a coding schema, qualitative coding, data entry, and maintaining research files. The RA may also be responsible in assisting in the supervision of undergraduate research assistants and interns. The incumbent will also assist in compiling materials for periodic reporting and IRB submissions. Reporting to the VCA Research Coordinator, the research assistant will assume other duties as needed, such as assisting with grant applications and manuscript submissions.
Required Education and Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the social sciences, health services research, public health, or related field. Demonstrated experience with data collection and analysis for grant-funded, social/behavioral research is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
