Job Description Summary

As a Supply Chain Associate/Material Handler you will be responsible for filling internal customer orders by picking and delivering raw materials to IDEXX production areas. You will monitor inventory and communicate any discrepancies. You will maintain a clean, orderly and safe warehouse and environment.

Shift Information: This is a first shift position, M-F 7-3:30. No overtime required.

What you can expect in this role

You will be responsible for customer and distribution center product flow by performing one or more of the following duties:


  • You will pick and pack inventory requests for internal and external customers as designated by lot number and SKU number.

  • You will review and receive inventory from internal customers.

  • You will perform accurate receipt, material storage and handling of inventory.

  • You will use automated systems to record transactions including receiving, picking, material movements and replenishments.

  • You will ensure that inventories are accurate by lot and by location through accurate reporting, picking, replenishment and data entry.

  • You will assist in cycle counts as required.

  • You will maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and inventory handling area

  • You may act as a technical resource within the department. You may serve as operating expert in the work area.

  • You will be responsible for cross-training in all departmental functions and responsibilities within distribution, as required. Functional areas include Picking, Packing, Shipping, Receiving, Replenishment. Proficiency will be measured by Productivity, Quality and Systemic Testing.

  • You will maintain a clean, orderly warehouse and inventory handling area.

  • You will maintain a safe working environment, utilize all applicable safety equipment, and comply with established safety policies, departmental procedures, and SOPs.

  • You will follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable ISO regulations. You may assist, document, develop and update SOPs. You may ensure that SOPs are followed.

  • You will be responsible for understanding, familiarity, and competency with IDEXX products and Lines of Business (LOB) to ensure accuracy in filling customer orders.

  • You may coach, mentor and train new employees and temporary labor on proper warehouse operations and systems, and compliance and regulations. You may provide feedback and ensure SOPs are followed.

  • You will perform other duties as assigned.

    What You Will Need to Succeed

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • Associates degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience, a plus.

  • Ability to use bar-code readers accurately and efficiently is preferred.

  • Knowledge of distribution processes/systems and inventory management preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with minimum supervision as required.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must work well under pressure and tight time constraints.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

  • Ability to learn and follow distribution SOPs and ISO 9002 regulations. Existing knowledge preferred.

  • Good computer skills and knowledge including familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

  • Willingness to be trained on order picker and forklift operations.


Physical Demands


  • Ability to properly lift up to 70 pounds.

  • Frequent lifting of large, unwieldy boxes or containers.

  • Must be able to work for extended periods of time standing, sitting, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk and hear.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal warehouse environment where protective clothing and equipment may be required.

  • Moderate to high noise level.
