We are looking for a creative, self-motivated individual to join our Emerging Technologies team in Agilent's Diagnostics and Genomics Group, tasked to drive innovation and expand Agilent genomics' footprint in both research and clinical markets.

As a scientist on the team, you will be responsible for experimental design, execution, and data analysis of assays, selected for evaluation. Chemistries will primarily focus on NGS workflows but can expand to other techniques including CRISPR. In addition, you will support the team with creating reviews of application areas of interest and time-sensitive M&A opportunities. The ideal candidate has experience with molecular biological techniques and working with NGS technologies, enjoys solving complex problems, can think creatively and wants to apply and develop their skills in a fast-paced R&D team environment. You will interact closely with the marketing team and other technical groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or master's degree in a related field with suitable field, with Ph.D. degree preferred. May consider candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience specific to this role.

  • 8+ years experience in molecular assay development.

  • Knowledge and experience with common molecular biology techniques and principles such as: Nucleic acid hybridization assays, PCR and primer design, DNA/RNA isolation, enzymatic manipulation of DNA/RNA, etc.

  • Ability and experience working with next-generation sequencing sample preparation workflows.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment within a global organization.
