Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Group Leader of Manufacturing, the intern will take on a project to create standardized work instructions for a process or product manufactured by CAE Healthcare. During the assigned project, the intern will become familiar with CAE's assembly processes, software platforms, and equipment. The intern will work side by side with Manufacturing Instruction Specialists to learn to utilize photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts to increase the end users' understanding of the standardized work.

The internship is based onsite in Sarasota, FL The interns schedule is Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm.

PROJECT TASKS


  • Write clear, concise work instructions, using the Visual Factory software, to increase build efficiency and to aide in the cross-training of all employees.


  • Edit written work instructions for errors in process, grammar, and format.


  • Collaborate with several departments: Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing and VF team members to acquire information relating to project.


  • Organize material and complete technical writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.


  • Report work instruction progress to team members and managers.


  • Understand practical application of the end user and incorporate feedback into documentation to facilitate ease of use and increased product utilization.


SKILLS AND APTITUDES


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites


  • Possesses excellent organizational, time management, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills


  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools such as pliers, cutters, screwdrivers, etc.


EDUCATION


  • Authorized to work in the US


  • Currently enrolled in a Certificate Program or University Degree program


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS


  • Regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time


  • Occasionally required to walk, reach, kneel, and crouch


  • Frequently required to use hands to handle, finger, or feel objects such as tools and controls


  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
