This position is an integral part of the regional EH&S leadership, for manufacturing & distribution sites across multiple business units. Serving as the main contact for all EH&S aspects this role is based at the Lebanon manufacturing site and covers the Lebanon, Portland and Memphis TN Coatings Services facilities. The area manager has direct responsibility to inform, consult and guide the sites teams on matters of Environmental, Health and Safety.

The incumbent has responsibility to:

• Establish and maintain effective EHS processes aligned to regulations and corporate standards.
• Manage all aspects of air permitting requirements and CAA record keeping.
• Manage all aspects of water permitting and record keeping per site permit.
• Advise and assist department managers/supervisors with EHS training, track its completion and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Track injuries and illnesses including follow-up with injured employees to develop c orrective actions.
• Develop and implement programs to reduce EHS risks and to comply with regulatory and PPG corporate requirements and management systems.
• Plan, organize, schedule and facilitate Sites EHS Leadership Teams.
• Plan, organize, schedule and facilitate Sites Industrial Hygiene Monitoring.
• Provides oversight and coordination of sites metrics and reporting.
• Provides incident and injury investigation and case management direction and oversight to the Sites.
• Provide oversight and guidance for process safety management covered processes on site.
• Evaluate EHS Impacts of projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed.
• Provide oversight, audit readiness and guidance for compliance audits and corrective action management.
• Initiates and manages specific EHS projects.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering or Science with 5+ years of industrial experience (depending on specific location and its complexity), preferably in the environmental, health or safety area.

Must have proven leadership and organization ability, possess good problem solving skills and be an effective written and oral communicator.

Working knowledge of OSHA "General Industry" and EPA regulations strongly desired.

Knowledge in areas of industrial ergonomics, workers compensation and disability management, and industrial hygiene is desired.

Previous experience in developing and implementing plant Health and Safety programs is desired.
