Summary/Objective: 

The Director, Accounting and Control will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Rogers’ Corporate Accounting team responsible for the oversight of global US GAAP accounting and the consolidation of the company’s global ledgers with an emphasis on driving process excellence, continuous improvement, innovation and best practice. This position reports to the Corporate Controller and CAO and is part of the Rogers’ financial leadership team responsible for the strategic evolution of the financial shared services model.  This role will partner with the Rogers’ leadership team and finance functions to evaluate, implement, and execute a global financial shared services strategy that delivers standardized, best practice solutions in the areas of credit, accounts receivable, cash application, collections, accounts payable, general ledger and consolidations. Effectively managing the perceptions and expectations of senior management and business partners will be critical to the success of this role

 

Essential Functions: 

1.    Global Accounting & Control

•    Ownership of Roger’s global multi-currency consolidation process in accordance with US GAAP.

•    Oversight and direction for all accounting activities and controls, including the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes.

•    Compliance with internal controls around accounting/financial reporting activities, and accuracy of transactional accounting around the world.

•    Coordination and execution of annual and quarterly external audits and reviews.

•    Provide timely and accurate reporting, reconciliations, analytics, and financial support to Rogers’ internal stakeholders.

•    Lead the efforts to improve financial reporting processes while working with the various internal departments.

•    Ensure adherence to established accounting practices, financial controls and compliances as it relates to transactions processed by the various shared services functions.

•    Implementation of new accounting standards.

•    Work with Internal Audit and other stakeholders to ensure proper design of internal controls related to new ERP system.

•    Ensure system access and roles and responsibilities remain properly segregated within to-be processes and systems.

2.    Financial Shared Services - Development

•    Partner with Business Transformation team and other stakeholders on the vision for improving and optimizing Rogers’ financial shared services functions based on Rogers’ business model and needs. Lead the execution of that vision.

•    Oversee and attract a team of highly capable skilled finance professionals to support the company’s business, encourage inclusiveness and aspire to create a great place to work.

•    Build proactive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and cultivate a culture of teamwork.

•    Communicate/train employees on new policies, procedures, and other changes to ensure consistent, standardized global processes.

 

3.    ERP Readiness

•    Assist as needed on the company efforts to align current accounting practices, structure and methods of working within current ERP system to new ERP system.

•    Partner with cross functional teams on design, automation of existing manual practices and implementation of new ERP system.

 

4.    Special Projects

•    Lead or assist with complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency in the process, sustainable effectiveness in the solution and clear communication to all stakeholders including growth team members.

Required Education and Experience: 

•    Broad understanding of US GAAP and SOX controls 

•    12-15 years’ combined experience in accounting, auditing, shared service and/or process improvement/oversight roles.

•    Knowledge of accounting processes, systems, and internal control framework.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

•    Strong accounting process, interpersonal and leadership skills

•    Ability to work as a strategic business partner in a multi-national organization and interact with all levels of management, internal customers and external auditors to support business objectives. 

•    Excellent analytical, verbal and writing skills with the ability to perform under time pressures.

•    Ability to attract, develop and retain talent.


Preferred Education and Experience: 

•    Experience with large, global company processes preferably in a shared services environment

•    Manufacturing and/or high-tech industry knowledge or experience

•    CPA/MBA/relevant certifications preferred
