Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

The HPE Ezmeral software portfolio is a purpose-built, hybrid cloud platform for data science and analytics workloads for enterprises to build and accelerate their modern data analytics initiatives at scale. It is composed of a complete orchestrated Kubernetes container platform along with a built-in persistent storage layer. The HPE Ezmeral portfolio plays an essential role in the HPE edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-service strategy.

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to design, build and enhance the HPE Ezmeral Container Platform software stack. This involves working on a variety of open-source projects and frameworks including Kubernetes and Istio.

How you’ll make your mark: 

• Responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.




• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.




• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.




• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.




• Evaluating processes for software development methodology, including creating functional specs, design specs, project plans




• Work closely with other teams to analyze, debug, and resolve product issues




• Develop unit test frameworks and write comprehensive unit tests. Automate test execution and reporting




• Prepare and present product usage demos and best practices




• Deliver consistently in a fast-paced environment, giving attention to detail even under high-pressure situations

About You: 

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent




• 4+ years of experience with building complex distributed systems




• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills




• Proficiency in Java, Python and Bash




• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP)




• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English language




• Experience in overall architecture and software design for products and solutions




• Extensive experience with multiple software frameworks, build tools and processes




• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels




• Experience with Go, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Ops) and Container technologies (Docker & Kubernetes) is desired
