Job Summary:

  • The Structural Engineer will design, analyze and inspect the materials used, within the Modular and offsite construction industry ensuring these materials can support the design of the structure.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consults with and provides guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.

  • Project specific Design Engineer | Engineer of Record will be responsible for the overall project structural design and conformance to all applicable codes. Errors, omissions, and professional liability coverage will be maintained by company and is not the responsibility of the employee.

  • Uses design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs.

  • Assesses strength of foundations, concrete, asphalt, or steel by evaluating materials and Geotechnical reports.

  • Monitors project progress and ensures design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met.

  • Establish, review, and implement new modular construction structural details including researching and testing new methods of fastening, lifting, and constructing modules.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Professional experience developing schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards

  • Advanced understanding of build materials, techniques and processes with Modular and offsite construction.

  • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.

  • This position includes the stamping and sealing of design drawings, requested revisions, sketches, revisions, or typical details after review and in conformance with all Code requirements.

  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10 to 15 years of work experience

  • Licensure as professional engineer (PE) multiple States required.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.

  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
