Position Description:
DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Manager has the task of making sure there are no errors on the company’s balance sheet or on the statements of profit and loss, cash flows or retained earnings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
•Oversees, monitors and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and database management.
•Audits work flow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
•Preparation of monthly journal entries.
•Preparation of financial statements.
•Helps maintain accountability of the financial resources of the company.
•Handles personally or reviews general ledger reconciliations.
•Ensures compliance with all internal controls.
•Assists BU Controller with a variety of tasks as needed.
•Reviews monthly closing processes to prevent errors.
•Handles special projects as requested by management.
•Helps with the preparation of the yearly audit.
•Review job costs before jobs are closed to catch errors before they become margin questions.
•Review standards and variances to standard on a monthly basis.
•Prepare analysis of revenue variances – price, volume and mix analysis.
•Identify and research trends in material and labor costs and expenses.
•Assists in safeguarding the assets of investors.
•Provides tax information for the Corporate Office.
•Prepares sales and use tax filings.
•Reconciles trial balance to Corporate office financials.

Position Requirements:
Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Demonstrates 5 years of significant knowledge in accounting skills and practices. Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience leading others.
• Analytical skills – strong desire to understand what is behind the numbers.
• Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology.
• Demonstrates significant knowledge of financial software programs and their interface within the manufacturing environment.
• Possesses exceptional organizational skills and is an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
• Displays the ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Has a working knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
• Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Extended working hours may apply during peak periods of business needs.
