Sr. Electrical Engineer

Overview

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lippert Components, Inc. is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer at our offices in Wixom, MI. Supports PCB design, embedded software, test, and diagnostic equipment design and development. This position will devise new approaches to problems, prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable specifications, accepted engineering practices, and company standards. This position will create and maintain copies of drawings and information in our product database. Specific duties include: 1) perform DVP&R, DFMEA, WCCA; 2) create and maintain BOM for the design; 3) develop designs using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software; 4) develop electronics designs using schematic capture and computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software; 5) develop software validation tools using CANape or Matlab/Simulink or other tools; 6) perform source code revision control using software management tools; 7) design and develop Lab and End of Line testers using National Instruments products; 8) work with outside suppliers as needed to convey specifications and requirements; 9) follow proper root cause analysis tools and techniques and document findings in detail; 10) communicate with QA, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints; 11) assist in the collection and maintenance of vehicle and product application data to develop product; 12) set up and maintain an organized file system for production drawings; and 13) perform other duties as assigned. This position will manage 3 to 4 peers.

Requirements:

This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or a related field and three years of related experience. Must also have 12 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Electrical design and computer-aided drafting; 2) National Instruments hardware and software development; 3) Developing product requirements, test reports, and test system user manuals; and 4) Microsoft Office Suite, LabVIEW, PCB design software such as Eagle, CANalzer and CANoe; Microsoft Project, Autodesk Inventor, and ANSI C or C++. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master's program. 30% domestic and international travel required to visit customer sites and provide production engineering support.
