Principal UX Designer - Equinix Metal

This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.

Equinix Metal is looking for a User Experience Designer to be a major contributor to our bare metal cloud provider software products. This person will focus on making our customer and employee web experiences awesome! We need a UX leader who puts users at the center of every project, thinks strategically and iterates with speed. This role is fully remote friendly in the US or US friendly timezones.

What you’ll be doing:

You'll have a key role in all aspects of the design process. We'll utilize your expertise to build brand-new experiences and iteratively improve existing ones. Daily responsibilities include meeting with stakeholders and the product team, conducting user research and designing low fidelity mockups. You'll build prototypes and write test scripts to run user testing sessions. Once we've finalized designs for a feature, you'll facilitate the developer handoff and handle troubleshooting. Most significantly, you will evangelize design thinking across our organization, and define design standards at Equinix Metal. Today we use Figma, Zoom, Jira, Slack, G-Suite and FullStory, and we are always on the lookout for new tools.

What we’ll expect from you:

• 6+ years experience designing experiences for enterprise and cloud products




• Enthusiasm for collaborating with our engineering teams, product, designers and partners.




• A strong affinity for UX standards, with a balanced amount of understanding that compromise is imperative to get things done.




• Effective communication and presentation skills to stakeholders and executives.




• Flexibility and a strong desire to continue learning new skills and tools




• An interest in bare metal hardware and networking-focused products. We don’t expect that you are a specialist in this industry, but be able to demonstrate your ability to wrangle complex processes
