POSITION SUMMARY:This position serves as a shift leader for the distribution center. Leads and directs employees performing distribution center functions. Responsible for directly managing warehouse employees and interacting with other supervisors and managers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List the essential functions that are core to this position and represent at least 5% of the incumbent's time. Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.






























1 30% Provide daily direction to warehouse employees who perform work in shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stocking, picking, packing and palletizing finished products ensuring efficient operations and processes. Communicate with staff and employees to drive alignment and consistency to goals and company objectives.
2 20% Manage performance, productivity, attendance, quality and housekeeping expectations and drive personal accountability. Address performance problems, recognition and provide coaching where appropriate. Ensure policies and work practices are administered in a fair and consistent fashion.
3 20% Ensure a continuous focus is placed on process improvement and reduction of waste. Empower and encourage employees to continually evaluate and improve daily processes.
4 15% Ensure a safety driven culture. Ensure expectations are clearly articulated, safe work practices are adhered to and hold employees accountable for safety infractions. Investigate safety related issues or violations.
5 10% Responsible for reporting and tracking of shift metrics.
6 5% Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Will manage direct reports and have responsibility for performance management and day-to-day coaching to ensure success of the warehouse associates. Train or ensure that employees are properly trained for their specific roles. Share Company updates, financial results, and new objectives with employees. Assist with resolving quality discrepancies or customer concerns. Identify and resolve workplace problems, including tardiness or absenteeism. Provide reports and production updates to senior management. Assist in hiring and terminating activities.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years general, 6 years specific experience or 2 years college with 6 years specific experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to plan and organize work schedules.

  • Ability to communicate well with all associates and management.

  • Ability to coach, lead and empower people.

  • Ability to drive accountability, resolve conflict, and manage performance expectations.

  • Ability to apply situational leadership techniques in a changing team environment.

  • Ability to resolve problems and troubleshoot.

  • Ability to use creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements while keeping in mind the needs of the business.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of internal and external customers and is self-directed in achieving results.

  • General computer skills to include proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work any shift.
