Job Description:

Scope:

Analyze and perform qualification testing of new or revised designs. Responsible for working in a multi-discipline team to assist the mechanical design efforts on catalog products. Interface with project and RF engineers , create thermal simulations, review specifications, identify critical features and risk items while detailing the required level of analysis and risk reduction strategy, mechanical design, review work of designers/detailers, perform detailed analysis as required, and participate in component verification (First Article Inspection).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Under direct supervision, assist in the design layout and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical designs

  • Work concurrently with RF designers to refine designs for manufacturability and machinability.

  • Perform finite element analyses (thermal and structural).

  • Perform qualification testing to assure that new designs, materials, and processes meet the intended requirements when implemented.

  • Generate reports (mechanical analysis reports) relating to product verification and reliability.

  • Participate in preliminary and critical review phases of design.

  • Design experiments, analyze data, and conduct structured problem solving.

  • Support manufacturing process to improve manufacturability.

  • Perform lab work including power and reliability testing.

  • Provide support of existing product line through design activities and resolution of production issues.

  • Design and evaluate fixtures for product testing and evaluation.

  • Provide assistance to CAD detailers on design issues.

  • Review spec requirements from customers.

  • Perform product development activities, including implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.

  • Take personal ownership of projects and product issues and follow through to ensure a lasting impression among colleagues.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  • Comply with and support company policies and programs regarding safety, security, ISO, EEO, OSHA and Anti-Kick Back.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Proficient with FEA packages (such as Solidworks, ANSYS, or similar).

  • Proficient with 3D CAD modeling (such as Solidworks, AutoCad Inventor, or similar).

  • Excellent thermal, structural, and vibration analysis skills.

  • Ability to design experiments, analyze the data, and perform structured problem solving.

  • Ability to work independently in laboratory environment.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a cross functional team.

  • Must possess strong written communication skills to document technical specifications.

  • Strong critical thinking and research skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Familiar with software and control programming languages such as Matlab, Labview, or equivalent.

  • Familiar with various software programming languages (C#, Python, Excel VBA, etc.).

  • Knowledge of RF, microwave, or electromagnetism is a plus.

  • Knowledge of PCB and electronics manufacturing is a plus.

Education and Experience:

Required Education: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Required Work Experience:0-3 years

Export Requirements:

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
