Key Strategic Improvements
Drive down NCR costs and number – significant improvement in 2019 and 2020 however, a constant and needed Champion of the process moving forward is needed to communicate and develop strong Supplier partnerships
Increase Operational Performance, Reduce Lead time and increase ITO- By decreasing NCR’s Bray operational performance will increase and reduce costs, more than 50% of NCR’s globally are supplier caused
Knowledge - Buyers primary focus to purchase components at lowest cost on time, requires knowledgeable casting, foundry and machining person to solve issues. Working with suppliers to mutually solve issues.
Trend Identification -One point of contact, that solves issues, globally, taking advantage of pooled information, rather than site dependent, recognizing trends will solve issues before they happen on a larger scale, global containment
Cost of Ownership & Optimize tool life - Asset management will help alleviate issues and reviewing suppliers tooling maintenance programs to ensure that tool maintenance is efficient and effective to optimize useful tool life,
Cost of Ownership - Track tooling costs, tooling life and tooling changes – currently asset management is poor globally, often the Suppliers give lists of tooling they have, no central tracking system
Reduce Supplier lead time/Optimize supplier Performance - Strengthen supplier relationships with key strategic suppliers reducing issues, NCR’s, working to develop suppliers to reduce costs and improve performance, delivery and quality. Share best practices for driving performance
