Golder has a new opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our office in Richmond, VA. In this position you will provide support on environmental projects including groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling in and around Virginia.

Responsibilities of the role will include:


  • Performing field work and data collection
  • Perform various media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.)
  • Perform data compilation, minimal report writing and other related duties to support a project team
  • Ability to operate and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment associated with field duties
  • Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during the course of work
  • Undertake site reconnaissance, inspections, and observations
  • Work in a safe manner, including daily preparation of safety observations
  • Work with and support other Golder employees in the field or office
  • Carry out field work under the direction of more experienced Golder employees
  • Legal and safe operation of vehicle on behalf of the company
  • Assist with other field activities, as needed

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Communicate effectively by sharing information with colleagues and supervisors regarding work progress or issues that may arise
  • Willingness to regularly perform field assignments under varying weather conditions and terrains
  • Periods of standing, sitting, and walking on various surfaces
  • Willingness to travel. This position involves project work that typically results in 10 to 12 hour shifts for an average of 3 days a week with overnight travel.
