This position has direct responsibility to lead APQP activities related to vertically integrated product with heavy emphasis on welding plus assembly process improvements and problem-solving activities for similar product/process groups. Overall responsibilities include assisting the plant management in all activities related to development, application, and maintenance of ITAF 16949 based quality systems to continually improve internal and external quality performance including supplier quality performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in preaward through PPAP approvals with suppliers to product at Meritor, Frankfort Facility.
Lead problem solving teams in non-reversible corrective actions including help to design proof methods/devices to prevent defects from occurring
Work on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including Process FMEA, Process Control Plan, and inspection instructions and preparing PPAP submission documents to customers
Assist in problem solving with supplier for product identified as nonconforming and support supplier development activities
Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, including testing frequencies for CMM
Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
Compiles and writes training material, work instructions, and conducts training sessions for quality control and assurance activities
Implement and monitor statistical process control activity as required by the customer and internal requirements
Ensure that activities performed in this role, as well as in other areas of the facility, are compliant with customer specific requirements.
Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs
Bachelors Degree required, preferrably in engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of quality engineering activies in a manufacturing enviorment required.
Experience with AIAG, APQP, PPAP, MISA, & PFEMA process and all associated tools and methods required.
Experience with GD&T required.
Auditor experience required; ITAF Lead Auditor Certification highly preferred.
Expeerience in the Automotive industry preferred.
Oracle experience preferred
Windchill experience preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and/or other diagrams
Ability to effectively create presentations and present information
