The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
3M’s Central Sterilization Rep represents and develops 3M Medical Solutions Division monitoring business (Sterilization Monitoring Products, Biomedical Electrodes, Clean- Trace ™) in integrated health systems and independent hospitals within an assigned territory.  Responsible for clinical and concept selling of surface/ instrument /endoscope monitoring, sterilization and patient monitoring products to acute care call points including Central Service Processing, Infection Prevention, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Services.

As a Central Sterilization Rep, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Driving sales growth through collaborative efforts with other 3M Medical Solutions Division personnel including Technical Consultants, Medical Key Account Managers, Marketing, and distribution partners

  • Communicating clinical / business solutions to Infection Prevention, Central Sterile Processing, Endoscopy Department, Environmental Services, BioMedical Engineering, and other relevant key call points

  • Using territory analysis and opportunity assessment to create a business plan for growth.

  • Actively participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position (if applicable)

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years combined healthcare sales and/or Clinical experience in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position (if applicable)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Experience calling on Infection Prevention, Central Sterile Processing, Environmental Service, Endoscopy and BioMed staff in the acute care setting

  • Experience calling on Nurse Educators in the acute care setting

  • Clinical and concept selling skills

  • Experience dealing with national contracts, including negotiation and distribution management

  • Knows and understands medical terminology, processes, and procedures

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
