Job Description:

Coordinatesdrivers according to customer requests and in compliance with DOT regulations and company rules. Communicates with customers to determine driver demand and driving schedules. Notifies drivers of assignments and enters assignment data into a computer database.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plans, coordinatesand managesloads in an efficient andcost effectivemanner.


  • Managesall aspects of the dispatch process which ranges from load assignmentsto deliveryand any issues that may arise.



  • Maintainsconstant line of communication and positive professional relationships with internal and externalcustomers


  • Monitorsall daily activities and current orders to confirm accurate pick-up anddelivery, andpreparesthe driver's daily deliveries in accordance with customer performance standards to achieve the customers on time requirements.


  • Troubleshootsand resolvesissues effectively and professionally;works in cross functional team to address service issues as needed.


  • Ensurescompletedprojects aresubmitted for final approval.


  • Creates and maintainsreports, logs, and project schedules.



  • Ensuressafe and efficient completion of the task from the assigned crews.


  • Supervisespersonneland ensuresequipment and supplies are properly cleaned and stored on a regular basis.


  • Monitorssupply inventory.


  • Tracksmetrics for ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 programs & audits.


  • Enforcescompany and client policies and procedures as necessary.


  • Performs other, related duties as assigned. These are duties may not be specifically listed in this description, but which are within the general nature typically associated with the employee's level of work.

Employees are required to report any concerns associated with environmental compliance to their supervisor, General Manager or Environmental Manager. Employees are also required to complete training in hazardous waste management procedures, emergency response and other topics as outlined in the facility's training program and/or an individual training matrix.

HEALTH AND SAFETY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

While performing this job, the employee is responsible for continuous adherence to the Company's Health & Safety (H&S) Program. This includes: the health and safety of themselves and their coworkers, completing tasks in a safe manner, attending safety meetings and mandatory H&S training, and reporting any unsafe conditions, acts or unanticipated hazards to their Supervisor, General Manager or Health and Safety Specialist. Duties and responsibilities are detailed in the H&S Program Master Document and will be provided by the H&S Specialist and/or the direct supervisor during new-hire orientation, training sessions or upon request.
