The Sr. Engineer will support the Interregional Market Operations Department and Market Services Division by operating or supporting all market activities associated with interregional market coordination.
Essential Functions:
Complete the complex engineering assignments/analysis that supports present and future needs of Interregional Market Operations.
Support and lead the Market Interregional Market Operations group in developing and maintaining all tools that are used for economic transmission planning (specifically focused on activities in PJM’s seams).
Perform power flow analysis as required to support the Interregional Market Operations group.
Prepare reports and presentations to support the activities of the Interregional Market Operations group.
Provide support to the PJM System Operations group for Congestion Management Process applications such as M2M and CM2.
Coordinate and troubleshoot Congestion Management Process applications with neighboring Market and Non-Market entities.
Work with members of the Market Services division to solve engineering and market based problems.
Represent PJM on industry working groups, committees, task forces, or stakeholder groups involving issues related to the PJM markets.
Characteristics and Qualifications: Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of work experience
Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory
Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support
Preferred:
MS degree in Engineering
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience using PSS/e (power system analysis program)
