Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Production Setter (2nd Shift) for our Schaeffler Transmission LLC facility in Wooster, OH to report to the Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for producing components that exceed customer requirements and expectations.
Key duties include but not limited to:
Maintain productivity standards, perform changeovers, use gauges and other tools to perform their own quality inspections and record data into computer programs and systems
Will schedule tools, plan and ensure material is staged for changeover in alignment with the daily production plan
Will review and approve the tool/fixture condition is appropriate prior to releasing to production
Will monitor the set-up time per the SMED and maintain 5S in tool storage areas
Will be responsible for maintaining calibration of all gauges in coordination with the quality team
Should focus on monitoring and improving the set-up times in order to reduce overall time required
Will participate in SMED workshops
Maintains the tool accident reports for tooling that has been broken, mishandled, or crashed
Will assist in maintaining the OEE shift reports, be responsible for minor troubleshooting and repair of equipment, as well as work with support functions to communicate and escalate maintenance repairs, as required
Qualified candidates will have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry
Experience in CNC Machining, Grinding, Welding, Stamping, Heat Treatment, or Assembly operations
Blueprint reading
Reading gauges and calipers
5S, SMED, TPM
Basic tooling
Excellent communication ability (written & verbal)
Ability to work flexibly in a team
Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results
Continuous improvement approach
Assertive approach to solving problems
Ability to prioritize and make decisions
Journeyman card or technical diploma preferred
