JOB DESCRIPTION

Digital Intelligence Solutions (DISYS) is seeking two Senior Database Developers to provide Clinical data solutions for Health Care informatics efforts as part of that team that designs, develops, and delivers a large-scale Data Mart solution.

To be eligible, Consultants must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and be able to attend on onsite orientation and work in Walnut Creek, California. Once onsite operations resume,three days a week working onsite and two days of telework is offered.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design and maintain a large clinical SQL Server Database.

* Tuning SQL Server Databases.

* Design and code a large number of SQL Queries and stored procedures.

* Monitor and perform tuning on large ETL jobs.

* Provide SQL Server best practices to other team members.

* Implement processes and procedures for the development and release of products/projects that facilitate high quality and rapid deployment.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Expertise in Database Architecture in an environment that handles large volume of data.

* Demonstrate expertise in performance tuning including both query and server optimization.

* Must have experience with monitoring and analyzing SQL Server production metrics.

* Strong knowledge and experience in data modeling, database design, optimization for performance, SQL, stored procedures

* Expertise in understanding complex business needs, analyzing, designing and developing solutions.

* Experience in SQL Server Integration Services 2008R2/2012.

* Hands-on development experience in SQL Server 2008/2012 using SSIS and SSRS.

* Experience in trouble shooting and resolving data issues.

* Experience in agile development is preferred.

* Eager to learn clinical data and systems.

* Detail oriented, strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving competencies.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Ability to work as a team player.

EXPERIENCE:

* Solid (5 years +) relational database and MS SQL Server experience.

* Solid experience (4 years +) to code complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

* Strong understanding of database development methodologies (Agile and Scrum)

* Experience with Continuous Integration Tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) a big plus.

* Health care domain knowledge a big plus.

* Experience with Red Gate Tools a plus (SQL Source Control, SQL Compare, SQL Data Compare).

* Education - BS or equivalent in engineering or related technical area - Master's degree preferred.
