Within Merchant Services, the newly formed Integrated Payments Product Group (IPPG) is responsible for building an evolving suite of new platforms, products and services that will power millions of businesses globally, from small businesses to large corporate clients. Coupled with J.P. Morgan's comprehensive banking capabilities and global reach, IPPG's innovative and commerce-oriented growth initiatives will continue to differentiate us from other banking and FinTech competitors.

J.P. Morgan Merchant Services has embarked on a multi-year effort to create a market-leading, global, integrated pay-in/pay-out experience for clients. Delivering on this sizable and complex undertaking requires tight integration and collaboration across technology, product management, business and client readiness. Ensuring strategic alignment, transparency, and governance for scope and funding decisions is imperative.

To that end, we are building out a small team of program managers in the Integrated Payments Product organization to support end-to-end delivery of critical new products in an Agile-at-scale environment and be accountable for implementation and feature availability commitment dates.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain a master project plan across all areas to ensure priorities and deliverables are in sync, accelerate the pace of progress, and ensure smooth product releases
  • Ensure senior leadership is engaged around the right topics at the right time and supported by relevant information and reporting
  • Provide a clear view of the objectives and success criteria for each undertaking and how they will be delivered
  • Implement a robust structure for prioritizing and driving key decisions including managing changes in a complex environment
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities and ensure tasks have owners
  • Identify cross-impacts, dependencies, and impediments to progress and ensure they are addressed
  • Support regular progress updates for a wide range of stakeholders and ensure follow-up items are addressed
  • Support the refinement of the investment business case as the effort evolves
  • Facilitate retrospectives and continuous learning and maintain the program's knowledge repository

Qualifications


  • Knowledge of the payments industry required
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience, including experience in program/project management in an Agile-at-Scale development environment
  • Track record of strong performance at the Vice President level
  • Self-starter able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment that is results-driven
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience and business needs to a technical audience
  • Rigorous, logical thinker with ability to identify and articulate rationale, assumptions, and risks
  • Strong end-to-end problem-solving skills including deconstructing problems, prioritizing issues, structuring analysis, identifying implications, and proposing solutions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with ability to establish trust and credibility, and build shared understanding across lines of business and functions, work well in cross-functional teams, and influence key stakeholders
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers
  • Strong time-management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Capacity to handle a highly complex effort, with ability to operate across multiple workstreams
  • Fortitude to persevere when confronted with difficult challenges
  • Superior judgment to mitigate risk and foster an environment where risk/control issues are escalated and creative solutions are identified
  • Skilled at Jira, Sharepoint, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of programming languages to facilitate automation of reporting a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree in a business or technical field preferred; PMP certification a plus
  • Flexibility for occasional travel in the future
