Job Description:

Responsible for planning, organizing and managing an assigned business unit.  Operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of resources; adapt business unit plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Evaluate policies, procedures and business unit goals to make decisions and solve problems.


  • Manage activities of a department including, but not limited to planning, problem solving, staff development and communication.

  • Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.

  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the work of assigned employees.

  • Responsible for special projects, programs and initiatives to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.

  • Provide effective and efficient solutions to complex business problems

  • Ensure that day to day business unit operations align with organizational objectives.


" Qualifications"


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.  Master's Degree in a related field is preferred. 

  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field is required.

  • Previous experience leading projects and/or teams is required.

  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop team members.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of corporate organizational structures, including functional responsibilities.

  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with moving variables in situations with limited standardization and alignment.

  • Ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization.  

  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Depart Preferences

1. Five years experience in a leadership role with direct reports

2. Two years experience in project delivery and leadership - business case development, business requirements, project value confirmation, business related activities, project management, testing, issue and risk mitigation

3. Extensive knowledge of Project Lifecyle

4. Working knowledge of NASCO Claims System, CIMS, ITS Releases and Authorization Processing.  

5. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization which includes written and verbal communication as well as visualizations.

6. Proven and effective delegation and follow-up skills

7. Demonstrated ability to make decisions with limited information 

8. Demonstrated structured problem-solving and communication skills who can operate in non-defined environments 

9. Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate opinion, recommendations and pros/cons

Primary responsibility will be focused on:


  • Point of contact in BCAD for claim related projects and group implementations.

  • Responsible for managing a team of Business Leads and Claim Leads who interface and engage with their respective business areas to ensure the system changes,

    functionality and output meet the needs of respective business areas.

  • Accountable for the work of his/her team on the projects they are engaged in and ensuring all deliverables are met and that implementations have minimal to no impact to Claims or other areas within the organization.

  • Provides high level oversight, leadership and resource management.   

  • Performs risk mitigation and issue resolution to remove obstacles that may impede progress on projects. 

  • Partners with business readiness to agree on support needed for each initiative.

  • Provides direct input into the project roadmap activities to support the achievement of key

    goals, planning and execution of various business readiness functions and

    delivery of the bottom line business value.

  • Manage activities of a department including but not limited to planning, problem solving, staff

    development and communication.

  • Performs daily managerial functions such as conducting performance reviews, providing

    coaching/career counseling to direct reports, resource planning, workload

    management, etc.

  • Represent department and division as requested on work groups and special assignments.
