The Rooms Manager oversees the day to day operations of both the Front Office and Housekeeping departments, with flexibility to move between either area, as needed. Directs the activities of key guest contact departments and provides instruction to department managers. Oversees rooms' related systems that directly impact the guest, to ensure proper procedures are in place and followed which allow for an outstanding guest experience.
What will I be doing?
As a Rooms Manager, you will:
Uses creative management skills to solve problems. Ensures compliance with Hilton standards to ensure consistent high quality guest relations.
Manages front desk operations, as well as steps in as a leader to resolve guest concerns, and implements resolutions by using discretion and judgement.
Oversees room reservations, front office systems, supplies inventory, scheduling, forecasting and department budget to maximize revenue. Compiles and prepares financial reports, including: rate and availability calendar. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff. Provide leadership and guidance to Front Office staff ensuring consistent quality service is provided.
Distribute/delegate room and cleaning assignments to Housekeeping team members.
Interview, select and train team members in proper work procedures and techniques.
Supervise and Monitor work performance of team members by conducting room inspections. Provide coaching and counseling of team members and conduct performance reviews when needed.
Plan and conduct staff meetings to ensure open commincation amongst team members. Attend various operational related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
