Under the direction and supervision of the Director of FP&A, coordinates or performs various cost accounting activities including the annual cost roll, product costing analysis, investigation of manufacturing variances and coordinating physical inventory counts. This position also provides sales analysis support to upper management. This is a headquarters function that works closely not only with manufacturing operations management but also the plant, marketing, engineering, and sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and leads efforts related to correcting standard product costs
Analyzes monthly manufacturing financial performance to plan, last year, and prior forecasts including the review of monthly updates to the annual financial performance projections for all manufacturing locations
Develop, update, and communicate common operations management reporting across all plants
Provide financial support and analysis for the Finance and plant team
Provide financial support for inventory quality analysis ensuring that cost accounting and perpetual inventory systems are functioning accurately and with the appropriate controls
Provide variance analysis and variance forecasts
Prepare manual journal entries and assist with monthly forecasting and headcount analysis
Prepare monthly reconciliations of several balance sheet accounts
Partner with the Director of FP&A and other business leaders to develop the annual sales, costs, operating and capital budgets
Drive meaningful ad hoc analysis that facilitates business growth and profitability improvement
Learning ability to navigate within Oracle Finance EBS and BI reporting tool
Ad hoc reporting for Access Systems Division and our parent company, Sanwa Holdings Corporation
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2-5 years experience in manufacturing finance operations, preferably at a manufacturing site in a similar position
General accounting experience
Experience with standard cost systems and methodologies is desirable
Knowledge of shop floor control systems and related financial controls, including perpetual inventory systems is desirable
Strong organization and project management skills
Ability to work independently, to organize and prioritize multiple project responsibilities, and to produce quality work under deadline pressures
Manufacturing cost accounting with working knowledge of computerized accounting systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills as well as team management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent MS Office® skills
Hyperion Essbase knowledge and experience are desirable
