Cantor Fitzgerald: Assistant Vice President, Employment Counsel

Cantor Fitzgerald is seeking a talented attorney to join our Legal Department as an Employment Counsel. The position will report to the Deputy Chief Employment Counsel, the Americas and will handle a wide range of employment law-related issues, with a focus on providing legal advice and counsel to Cantor Fitzgerald's investment bank.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing legal advice, counsel, and support to internal clients on a broad range of employment law-related issues
• Drafting employment-related documents, such as offer letters, employment agreements, and policies
• Staying apprised of developments in federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and enforcement proceedings and providing timely strategic updates to the firm's Employment Law group and Human Resources professionals
• Providing legal advice and counsel on mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactional matters
• Participating in internal investigations and audits
• Conducting legal research

• J.D. degree and membership in New York state bar
• 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law
• Law firm and/or financial services experience preferred
• Employment litigation experience preferred
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and organization skills
• Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment, maintain confidentiality, and understand when to escalate matters
• Ability to work well with the entire legal staff, human resources professionals, and other internal clients
