Huitt-Zollars' Fort Worth, Texas office has a full time opportunity for a Plumbing Designer. We area leading Architectural and Engineering firm providing innovative planning, engineering, architectural and interior design, construction and program management, and design-build project delivery to our clients in the public and private sector. Responsibilities:

Draft and design plumbing, piping and equipment for commercial developments including water systems, sanitary and storm systems, underground piping, sprays, and hydrants
• General design and production of plumbing, fueling and process piping drawings from preliminary stages to final construction drawings


• Layout and size equipment, perform load calculations and investigate code requirements.


• Provide technical expertise during the design phase (schematic, design development) to coordinate spaces required for those systems.


• Coordinate between disciplines and produce working documents using AutoCAD and REVIT


• Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the design, coordination and construction process


• The successful candidate will serve as a member of multi-disciplinary design teams in the completion of studies development of plans and specifications for a broad range of projects


• Responsibilities include supporting senior engineers in the design of plumbing systems


• The candidate will work under the direction of senior engineers and direct younger engineers on multiple projects ranging from small scale to large scale systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in drafting and designing plumbing systems


• Certified Plumbing Designer


• Knowledge of applicable codes and general engineering practices


• Strong AutoCAD and REVIT experience


• Knowledgeable in the design of domestic water, drainage, compressed air, vacauum and natural gas systems


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment


• Work experience on a wide range of plumbing design projects is highly desirable. In addition to commercial experience, preferred experience will include compressed air systems, vacuum systems, lube systems, medical gases, gray water systems, and contaminated wastewater systems
