HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement: Meet the profitable revenue objectives for assigned healthcare customers and targets by taking a leadership role in the development of account relationships that will lead to the creation and winning of Engineering Solutions (PLXS-ENG) business opportunities.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Acquire new Plexus customers by winning profitable initial PLXS-ENG engagements and supporting new Plexus Manufacturing (PLXS-MFG) engagements by promoting our engineering capabilities as a competitive advantage.

  • Grow/retain existing PLXS customers by winning profitable PLXS-ENG revenue

  • Build/maintain long-term, win-win customer relationships by being a trusted advisor providing consistent, measurable contributions to the customer's growth and profitability and ensuring PLXS-ENG brand awareness/alignment.

  • Influence/drive the evolution of PLXS-ENG service offerings and healthcare go-to-market models by obtaining Voice of the Customer (VOC), understanding end-market trends, competitive environment and differentiators.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and guide to the internal Go-to-Market operations partners through the conceptual and strategic selling process for PLXS-ENG opportunities.


Additional Accountabilities:


  • Own the creation of Engineering Business Plans and ongoing evolution/updates of customer account strategies.

  • Responsible for effectively managing and leading the overall business development process from initial customer engagement through successful proposal delivery and closure including collaborative development of the opportunity strategy, proposal development, and ultimate delivery of the proposal.

  • Own the customer visit experience by collaborating with the assigned Engineering Solutions site to establish the appropriate agenda, attendees, and customer tour in a timely manner while contributing to the continual improvement of the quality of these customer engagements

  • Develop an understanding related to the sector including end market OEMs, markets trends and dynamics, regulatory environment, core technology needs, and outsourcing maturity. Understand how to effectively leverage internal resources to credibly engage OEMs in discussions concerning end market needs, issues, and challenges.

  • Develop and maintain technical competency and understanding related to Plexus Engineering Solutions capabilities in all disciplines and be able to effectively represent these capabilities to customers and targets through detailed engineering services presentations or conversations.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the complete Engineering Solutions development process, including project management, representative development cycles, and project estimation (schedules, resource management, and budgeting).

  • In support of assigned accounts maintain and update on a regular basis fiscal identified revenue and corresponding rolling identified forecast.

  • Develop and maintain general operating knowledge of Plexus Manufacturing Solutions processes and capabilities and be able to effectively convey these services in a limited manner.

  • Responsible for leading initiatives within the Engineering Solutions team to improve processes, drive new ideas and initiatives across the organization.

  • Demonstrate strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills in order to be responsive to customers while being responsible for multiple projects and/or other priorities.

  • Frequent travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 35-40%).

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field is required.

  • Five (5) years of related experience is required.

  • Three (3) years of project management, functional management or business development experience preferred.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

    Other Qualifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills.

  • Advanced decision-making and problem solving skills.

  • Advanced oral communication, written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or matrix organization and influence results to obtain sales objectives.

  • Understanding of design methodologies for a wide range of engineering disciplines.

  • Possess strong team building/leadership skills and knowledge of leadership principles.

  • Possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

    Work Environment:

The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
