Edelman is seeking an Account Supervisor to join the Corporate Communications team in San Francisco. While there's no "typical" day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can roll with the punches and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking creatively on behalf of brands and their executives.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and account manager with earned media experience and contacts, a diverse set of skills and abilities, and an interest corporate tech and executive visibility. Expertise in project management, earned media strategy and social executive visibility are a plus. We're seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to push our thinking, share fresh, innovative ideas and elevate the quality of counsel we deliver for our clients. This candidate will also serve as a mentor to junior staff and interns.

Responsibilities:


    • Support day-to-day account management and serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively

    • Manage multiple projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

    • Strong earned mindset is ideal. Should be interested in contributing to strategic earned media on a regular basis and execute against those plans.

    • Ability to effectively monitor the news landscape daily, develop proactive and reactive pitches, conduct planned and proactive outreach daily, develop relationships with key U.S. media, etc.

    • Thoughtfully counsel clients based on the internal and external landscape and business goals

    • Closely track communications marketing trends to bring fresh thinking and best practices to clients

    • Write in multiple voices and produce clear, persuasive, content, including messaging, media pitches, event submissions and more to help tell client's stories

    • Develop succinct, effective briefing documents and social posts for C-suite executives

    • Help set the strategy for quarterly or annual communications plans, content strategies, etc.

    • Delegate to junior staff and help motivate and coach team members; manage up to senior staff and consistently provide feedback that helps drive efficiency

    • Coordinate with other discipline experts (e.g., earned media, paid media, design, crisis) as needed

    • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills

About you:


    • Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in corporate storytelling and managing projects/teams, and 5+ years of general comms experience

    • Can demonstrate superior writing, editing and presentation skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questioning, critical thinking, client management and communication methodology application)

    • Can quickly grasp client goals and understand their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners and other businesses/organizations, etc.

    • Have a Bachelor's degree in a related field,

    • Have a proven ability to manage large projects (including budgets) and small teams simultaneously, function as a daily client contact, as well as develop and execute plans to meet client goals.

    • Have a demonstrated ability to delegate and accurately judge and edit the work of others.
