As a strategic partner to Albertsons, the Category Manager Everyday FC is responsible for providing fact-based, insight-led, and actionable category solutions in order to drive growth for the category, customer, and company specifically for the Aisle business. This category thought-leader will translate consumer and data trends into value-creating business solutions regarding category assortment, merchandising, shelving, pricing and promotion for Albertsons Aisle business. Primary focus will be leading category initiatives at the HQ level with additional ad hoc divisional level support. Close collaboration and leadership with the broader Albertsons Sales, Category and Internal MW teams will be critical to the success of this role.
What are we looking for?
5+ years Category Management experience, preferably on a Albertsons Category Team
Analytical experience from situation assessment through solutions with tangible results leveraging syndicated data resources (EYC Shopper 360; IRI or AC Nielsen; Scan, Panel, Spectra, etc.)
Highly proficient in MS Office and other technical applications (JDA, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strategic focus and ability to creatively solve problems
Advanced interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel (up to 20% of time)
Bachelor's degree
Successful completion of drug screen and background check
Nice to Have:
3+ years of experience in Category Management
Experience managing and visualizing large sets of data using cutting edge tools (Alteryx, Data Lake, MS Power BI, Tableau, Teradata, etc.)
Strong analytical experience from situation assessment through solution with tangible results
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience, including "Storytelling" capability within PowerPoint which has compelled customer decision making and action
Forward-looking, creative and strategic thinking ability
Knowledge of emerging retail strategy and technology (Omni-channel)
MBA or Advanced Degree
What would be your key responsibilities?
As the primary Mars Wrigley Category Contact for Albertsons Everyday Aisle Candy, this associate will:
Create and plan category leadership solutions which will deliver profitable sales growth for Albertsons Aisle business
Develop the knowledge and skills to consistently provide quality category support including:
Category Assortment, Merchandising, Shelving, Pricing and Promotional Performance & Recommendations
Planogram Analysis and Development
Competitive Market Analysis
Project Leadership & Support, Including Test & Learn Analytics
Ad Hoc and Ongoing Data Management, Reporting and Presentation Building
Develop positive, cross-functional relationships with key customer and internal stakeholders and building the trust and credibility to drive Albertsons Aisle category
Partner closely with the Mars Wrigley Category Strategy team to leverage and activate agreed upon internal category initiatives, including "Perfect Store" execution and other success measures, with detailed follow-through
Utilize deep knowledge of the category, consumers and our customers to support the development of Albertsons 1-3yr aisle & store strategic category plans, prioritizing projects based on viability and incremental value each initiative will drive for the category
Influence Annual Account Business Planning at the customer, through full partnering with sales team, by providing actionable category insights and solutions that support category leadership objectives for customer, company and category
Evaluate/ monitor all customer category leadership solutions, turn analysis into recommended action and continually improve to be more effective and efficient for category and customer
Be the subject matter expert on Albertsons Aisle business both supporting Albertsons HQ and ad hoc divisional support
Leverage insights and resources through the utilization of a broad range of data sources, market research findings, tools, analyses, and technology to continually bring new shopper ideas to customer and company
Advanced analytical, project management, and written/oral communication skills required; ability to think strategically.
Strong Microsoft Office skills to manipulate data and present findings in a quick and easy to read format.
