Job Description:

Located in the heart of Houston City Center, we are one of six global strategic technology centers for Global Investment Banking Technology. Our opportunities offer a chance to work on extremely challenging projects using the latest technologies.

Our team develops and maintains the Investment Bank's strategic deal and document management system which serves 10,000+ global users. We use and explore a wide range of leading edge technologies including Java, React, Spring, Kubernetes, ActiveMQ, Kafka, Camel, SOLR, Elastic Search, Documentum, and many others. Central to this role are designing and developing responsive, scalable applications and services and supporting existing features of this flagship application. You'll be contributing to the team's core development and will have plenty of opportunity to adopt a microservices architecture and shape the technical design as well as the UI/UX of the application. Your typical day may include participating in our Agile software development process, developing code and collaborating in a global team with teammates in New York, Glasgow, London, Mumbai, and Bangalore, where you'll be rewarded for taking initiative and unleashing your creativity to help solve problems.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the following to be considered for this role:


  • Core Java and/or React
  • Object Oriented Programming and design principles (OOP/OOD/SOLID)
  • Web development fundamentals

Preferred skills:

  • Messaging (Kafka or MQ) or Web services (SOAP and REST)
  • Spring/Spring MVC/Spring Boot
  • Multi-Threading
  • Agile/Scrum
  • Apache, Tomcat
  • Oracle Database
  • Maven, Git
  • DevOps and software development lifecycle
  • Automated unit testing and Test Driven Development
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks and libraries, such as jQuery, ReactJS or Kendo
  • Willing and able to learn the business to better solve problems
  • Self-starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
