Information Technology (IT) Technician at TREASURE VALLEY FAMILY YMCA

Job Description:

The Information Technology (IT) Technician position provides Tier II support (as defined by IT industry standards) and assists in evaluating and managing information system technologies for the entire organization, including providing support to end-users.

Responsibilities:

Provide Tier II support in all areas of YMCA infrastructure; provide Help Desk support (by phone, email, and site visits) to all end users in a multi-facility organization. While maintaining professional levels of service to all users, becoming acquainted with users to understand and assess their needs as best as possible to include assurance of completion of all levels of task.
Provide front-line support to end-users for workstations, all related peripherals, and network connectivity; monitoring and documenting cases to ensure timely resolution. This includes configuration issues, troubleshooting, software installations, and hardware repair.
Ensure that computer updates are applied reliably on all workstations.
Assist in supporting all other technologies (i.e. Wi-Fi network, copiers/printers, phone, voicemail and paging systems, meeting room A/V systems, security camera systems, mobile devices, and network cabling installations, etc.).
Ability to research and implement fixes for new issues and to proactively escalate issues to Tier III support (IT Director or outside tech consulting company) if the issue is out of technician's skill set or ability to solve.
Assist in maintaining backups of all networked data, including email and in-house databases, with regular testing to ensure restoration functionality.
Assist in maintaining antivirus/anti-spyware, and anti-spam systems.
Advise on proactive upgrades and replacement of servers, network equipment and necessary software licensing.
Assist in maintaining communications infrastructure, including phone, voicemail and cellular systems at all locations.
Use industry best practices and demonstrated up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
Maintain documentation for IT procedures that can be referenced by other IT staff when necessary, ensuring that all information is available at all times.


Qualifications:

Associate Degree in computer-related subject, A+ Certification, or equivalent experience in desktop support (hands-on / not call-center).
Knowledge of imaging and administering current versions of client operating systems.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work enthusiastically within constantly changing priorities.
Must be able to meet YMCA transportation requirements.


Schedule Requirements:
Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Schedule may vary to meet the needs of the business.

Physical Demands:

Continuous: Sitting for extended periods of time
Frequent: Ascend/descend stairs, reaching, bending, crouching, lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
Occasional: walking, and standing, crawling, leaning
Rare: Twisting
