The Program on Health Policy Management within the CRISMA Center in the Department of Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Senior Service Design Researcher for ongoing research projects related to critical care delivery in the United States. This individual will perform highly specialized technical work to produce multiple, effective clinician facing Decision Support Tools to be used in the ICU. This individual will use human-centered and participatory design methods to develop, implement, and evaluate multiple DSTs. Additionally, the Senior Service Design Researcher will disseminate results to internal and external collaborators and stakeholders. They will contribute to and independently develop conference abstracts and manuscripts. In order to achieve these goals, the Senior Service Design Researcher will be in the field regularly, interacting with ICU patients, families, nurses, doctors, administrators, researchers, and desk and support staff-a complete range of people who make up the health care system. This individual will collaborate and partner with a dynamic team of internal (e.g., investigators, project managers, statisticians, systems engineers, and administrative assistants) and external (e.g., software development engineers, business analysts, and designers) stakeholders. The individual will be responsible for finding, initiating, and nurturing new collaborative partnerships. Applicants should have the following skills and experience: Master's degree in design, human computer interaction, or another field related to human centered design and engineering. At least five years of relevant experience in the UX/UI design field (with a focus on healthcare preferred), and demonstrated ability to analyze and visualize complex sets of data and/or situations.

Relevant experience may be substituted for the advanced degree requirement. Equivalences permitted per University guidelines.
